Initial Assessments

Assessment is an important step in identifying the needs of the child and to provide practical advice to the parents in the form of a written report.

It is important to meet you initially to collect a detailed history of your child’s development and discuss your concerns in detail. From here an assessment will be completed which may look at some or all of the following areas:

  • Your child’s understanding of language
  • Your child’s spoken language
  • The sounds your child is using in their talking
  • How your child uses their language skills to communicate with others
